Zimmerman Verdict

If you love democracy, if you love the rule of law and the rights memorialized and protected under the US Constitution, you will embrace and defend the Zimmerman verdict, as just and right, and you will honor those that served on the jury--regardless of your individual speculations one way or another.

Comment 1: Loren M. Lambert - It's a messy process and very imperfect, there are many laws needing adjustment and I have been on the receiving end of bad decisions but despite it all, our system, still in need of perfection, is one of the best on earth.

Comment 2: Loren M. Lambert - Let me add, although I don't think it was as big a factor as some believe (I think he would have been acquitted in many jurisdictions, including here), if Florida's law is too skewed to favor a person like Mr. Zimmerman, don't blame Mr. Zimmerman for taking advantage of the law passed by Floridians, fault the Floridians who will largely experience the consequences of that law. Also, sitting on a jury and hearing all the facts live through the judicial process is a very different experience than hearing it only from media or political advocates of one side or the other. Do Judges and Juries err? Yes, but I think mobs do worse. What process would you employ?
